If political pundits were counting on recent local elections to reveal what’ll happen nationally at the polls in November 2024, they were unpleasantly surprised, according to this week’s Working Lunch podcast.
“I didn’t see any common thread,” said Franklin Coley, who co-hosts the politically focused podcast with business partner Joe Kefauver. The two are principals of Allied Public Strategies, an Orlando-based government-affairs consultancy.
Kefauver noted that a Democrat was elected mayor in restaurant-rich Jacksonville, Fla., a major city in a deeply Republican jurisdiction. A Democrat was also selected in Colorado Springs, Colo.
