The Pennsylvania Restaurant & Lodging Association (PR&LA) has tapped hospitality veteran Joe Massaro to succeed John Longstreet as CEO and president, effective July 25.
Massaro brings 30 years of experience in running hotels and restaurants to the post. He was most recently regional director of operations for Greenwood Hospitality and general manager of the management company’s Hilton Harrisburg property. Massaro held the positions simultaneously.
In his property-level role, Massaro oversaw a renovation that included the launch of the 1700 Degrees Steakhouse and Ad Lib Craft Kitchen & Bar. He also worked on the creation of a social club, The Hill Society.
Longstreet announced weeks ago that he planned to retire from the association’s top staff job on July 31. His tenure is scheduled to overlap with Massaro’s for five days.
“Joe’s proven leadership ability in the hospitality and tourism sectors, coupled with his service in hospitality and business organizations gives him an ideal background to lead an association like PRLA,” Tom Neely, the PRLA’s chairman, said in a statement.
