Ovation, a company that helps restaurants track and respond to guest feedback, has raised $2 million in a Series A funding round.
The funding was led by venture capital fund TIA Ventures and included contributions from industry leaders such as former Blaze Pizza CEO Jim Mizes and former Native Foods CEO Carin Stutz. It brings Ovation’s total funding to $9 million.
Ovation’s technology is designed to help restaurants both gather more feedback and respond to it in real time. It begins with a simple two-question survey that asks guests to rate their recent dining experience using emojis. It then uses AI to allow restaurants to immediately address negative reviews. Restaurants can also use the feedback to identify operational problems and fix them.
The Provo, Utah-based company said it would use the fresh funding to develop new features and expand its presence in the market.
“We are going to keep developing our guest experience platform to make it even easier for restaurants to improve operationally, recover their guests, and drive revenue with their feedback,” founder and CEO Zack Oates wrote in a LinkedIn post.
