1. A daytime sales booster
We’ve mentioned restaurants that are capitalizing on consumer interest in low-alcohol cocktails, but low-proof drinks are also a good way to boost daytime booze sales. Sessionable, a new concept in Portland, Ore., focuses on low-alcohol-by-volume beers, designed to allow patrons to try several without getting inebriated. The beers in the bar’s 30 taps each have 2% to 5% ABV. Sessionable also serves a small selection of sandwiches and snacks, including a charcuterie plate, oysters and dips.
